Yesterday I went to mums group and it was really good. There was a lady there from RAA discussing car seat safety. It was interesting. Did you know that Australian car seats aren’t made for extended rear facing because apparently we don’t need it because we have a top tether on our seats whereas European car seats don’t, and that’s why they rear face longer. But the lady did say rear facing can be done until up to 12m.o in a standard Australian car seat. Not trying to ignite debate over this, it was just something that I went to the session interested in asking about so I thought I’d share what I was told. Apparently they are bringing in seats to allow Extended rear facing in Australia though due to demand.. anyway moving on. It was heaps better this time because I had someone similar in age to me to talk to. She had a little boy in March so our babes are similar in age and we had a great chat for ages until our munchkins got stroppy so we decided it was time for them to go home and nap, so I thought I’d go for a walk because Violet rarely naps at home anymore and I went to Foodland and they have vegan cheese now. Exciting because I live in the sticks and Foodland have gone from 0 vegan products besides semi-fresh produce to having 2 types of tofu, Syndian curried pumpkin bites, Sanitarium canned lentils and stuff, So Good ice cream, a few salads, Purity baby products and Tofutti mozarella cheese. Progress, people!! Anyway, that’s about all I’ve been up to.
I sing and do crazy little dances for Alice too! She sits there and chuckles and looks at me like ‘who is this crazy woman…’ or sometimes just raises one eyebrow. She’s hilarious.Haha Violet does the same. I thought they were too young to be so judgemental? :p I can’t believe our babes are nearly 6 months old!
